A peninsula extends to the south, Ada Boğazı lies on the south of this peninsula between Bitez and Gümbet coves. The cove has crystal-clear water with different hues of blues and provides adequate shelter from westerlies. A fjord-like cove lies to the north is another attractive spot. All anchorages are very crowded and noisy during the day because of the tripper boats. Boats can either swing at anchor or take a line ashore. The waters around the islet in the middle is shallow.

There’s an enticing area between Bitez and Gümbet, called Aquarium Bay, which is primarily visited by day boats from the nearby harbours. This area used to attract a lot of fish, hence it’s name, but the continual arrival and departure of boat traffic has scared most of them off. The water is crystal clear aqua marine, and glorious for swimming in. Tucked in the corner of the Bay is the secluded Aquarium Cove.

Aquarium Cove is sandwiched between Gümbet to the East and Bitez to the West, and has a couple of small islands to the South. The larger of these two islands is called Ada Boğazı.

At its front it Görecik Island and between here and the peninsula a strait and the cove has formed with brilliant bright and clean water known locally as the aquarium.  The cove attracts vast amounts of day trip boats and yachts that drop anchor at night.

Ada Boğazı is an isolated spot and it can't be accessible by road. There are no roads that run to this part of the peninsula but there are hiking trails from both Bitez and Gümbet to the cove and it’s a great place for swimming and snorkelling.

BİTEZ COVE ANCHORAGE

Bitez Yalısı is after Aktur on the E side of this large bay. Name of the town Bitez Yalısı is derived from Greek mythology, meaning; vineyards and gardens. The village with its citrus orchards and olive trees, retains its original tranquility. The settings are attractive. Hotel and restaurants settlements are well planned and organized.

The northern side affords adeaquate shelter except from southerlies. The stream at the western side lies in. This part is shallow and marshy. There is a windsurf school in the vicinity. Swimming buoys are placed along the shore line. Boats can anchor off the buoys in the depths of 4 - 10 meters.

Pay attention for buoys and swimming platforms while dropping anchor. Strong wind swells are funneled down from the mountains at night. Care is needed, ease your chain as much as possible.

The quay on the east is managed by Bitez Authority.

Boat berthing capacity is 12. Anchor is to be dropped for berthing. This quay and concrete pier with its annex gets very crowded in summer. Tripper boats are commonly berthing. Diving excursions are arranged from this quay. Advance booking is required to be withness of underwater beauties of Bodrum.

Shower facilities of the pier is well equipped.
A cafe within pier provides wireless connection.
Fuel can be obtained from truck-tanker.

You can go ashore by your dinghy and obtain provisions.

Since commencing operations in 2008, Bodrum Cruise Port has quickly become a popular stopover for super and mega yachts, providing fresh water, power, duty-free fuel and provisions to yachting patrons. Foreign military ships also visit this port for rest-and-recreation calls and shore leave. Bodrum Cruise Port includes a 280 metre long quay for smaller ferries and mega yachts.

Lacking of a port, only few cruise lines could enjoy the natural and archaeological sources of Bodrum by staying at anchorage and in the place where now the great port complex stands only a deserted small hill was facing the blue water of Bodrum. Since March 2008, the time the Port launched its operations, cruise vessels are welcomed by a full ISPS certified port in Bodrum Cruise Port and have the possibility to enjoy the treasures of the region in a safe and secure environment.

Bodrum Cruise Port is located 36 km from the Milas International Airport and few minute walk to the city center. The Port has the capacity to service at least two large cruise vessels at a time together with three motorboats.

The newly built pier has a length of 350 meters (1148.2 ft) on the longer side and 330 meters (1082.6 ft) on the inside, with a width of 15 meters (49.2 ft). The draft is -9 meters in the shallow part of the pier and -23 (75.4ft) meters at the end of the pier.

Other than the cruise pier, the Port has various quays ranging from 3 m (9.8 ft) to 6m (19.7 ft), totalling to 300 m (984 ft). In addition to the quays, the Port harbours three ferryboat ramps.
The Port has a total area of 22,000 m2 (236,800 ft2) with a beautiful terminal building in total harmony with the pure blue Mediterranean and Aegean blue waters meeting and mixing here in the city of Bodrum but also the whitewashed houses, which look like a dusting of new snow on the mountaintop and.

The terminal building is housing all the customs offices, duty-free area, restaurant and cafeteria. Other buildings will comprise in the near future other restaurants, cafes and brand new shops and boutiques.
