Sailing in Turkey also allows visitors to experience the hospitality of the people in the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds blowing from west and northwest make the long summers ideal for yachting, and seem to encourage an appreciation of nature. From some of the turquoise coast's unspoilt and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level.

This port extends to the south on the east of Mandalya Bay. Care is needed while approaching from the west. Reefs and shoal water running out from the western tip of the bay. Keep clear away. Güllük Marina lies about half way along the eastern side of the gulf. Güllük is a well-protected natural harbour, not affected by winds from any direction. Deep water approaches to pier. All the Authorities, including the Harbour Master are based on the waterfront.

This harbour has space for visiting yachts. Arriving to clear in the morning calm will allow you to temporarily berth at the shore end of the cargo pier. Later in the day, with the meltemi blowing, this berth becomes untenable. Shelter can then only be found tucked behind the breakwater of the inner harbour.

The port is open to westerlies, short term anchorage on the eastern part of the quay is advised. Drop your anchor in the depths of 7 - 8 meters and swing. The bottom is good for holding.
