Sailing in Turkey also allows visitors to experience the hospitality of the people in the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds blowing from west and northwest make the long summers ideal for yachting, and seem to encourage an appreciation of nature. From some of the turquoise coast's unspoilt and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level.

Mudanya, which is 25 km northeast of Bursa and at coast of Marmara Sea, is a center, where summer tourism is experienced densely due to its fresh air. Summers are hot and dry, winters are warm and rainy.

Mudanya (the site of ancient Apamea Myrlea), is a town and district of Bursa Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. It is located on the Gulf of Gemlik, part of the south coast of the Sea of Marmara. As of 1911, it was connected with Bursa by a railway and a carriage road, and with Istanbul by steamers.

Although it boasts the inevitable modern housing complexes and tall apartment blocks, the town still retains enough beautiful old buildings, especially along the seafront, to justify a visit. The parks are also well cared for and there are several fish restaurants and cafes along the shore.

Tirilye or Zeytinbağı is a town in Bursa Province, situated 12 km (7.46 mi) west of Mudanya. Zeytinbağı  is a quaint township along the Marmara Sea shoreline. The most important historical structure in Trilye (Triglia) is that of the Byzantine Aya Todori Church, known today as the Fatih Mosque. Mudanya, a residential and commercial development in this township is under state protection as a historical site.

The place is famous for its olives. Zeytingbağı means olive yard and you can taste nice olives and olive oil in the town. With its clean air, sea, fish, and tranquility, Zeytinbağı is an ideal vacation town.

Breakwater protecting from north winds. Harbour entrance looking to the east. Prevailing winds in the northern breeze on the wind broadside is not possible. In such cases almost always the big fishing boats in the harbor of repose may be useful. Fishermen in this regard, especially against the sailors of sympathetic and very hospitable.

The waterfront area has been attractively laid out with paths in recent years and is now a pleasant place for promenading.

TOWN
The village is a photographer's paradise, with its old houses, cobblestone streets, the ruins of a stone school building, a church and a mosque supporting each other, and with the streets shadowed by centuries-old trees.

As you climb up the hill, you are met by "Kemerli Kilise" (Vaulted Church). It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1855 and, though it was restored in 1883, much of its originality has been lost. Inhabitants told us about the marvelous 14th- and 17th-century frescoes in the church; however, since you need permission to visit it, we did not have a chance to see those inner beauties.

The stone school building, which is called "Taş Mektep" and which has been quite destroyed, was built as a monastery in early 1900s. In addition, former Cyprus president Archbishop Makarios was among the graduates. Before the War of Independence, it was an orphanage, and since then it has been used for educational courses. The building now belongs to Bursa Uludağ University and is under restoration.

The strong northeast wind cools the summer days, however I imagine it is freezing in the winter. The coast between Tirilye and Zeytinbağı is a natural beach, but the pollution sometimes effects the view along the coastline.

FISH RESTAURANTS
By the sea there are nice fish restaurants. You can have your meal in one of them. People are much visit the restaurants on the beach side by side at the weekend. They are clean and have pleasant service. Fishes available due to seasons.
