Bartın City is the provincial capital of Bartın Province. The city is situated 14 km inland on the Bartın River (Bartın Çayı) which is navigable for vessels between the city and the Black Sea coast. The Bartin River passing through the city gives way to boat trips in the city to catch a glimpse of perfect landscape.
PORT
The port of Bartin is located on the SW shore of the Black sea and its International Port and Entrance Gate. Backside harbour is a small harbor that affords good all around shelter.

HISTORICAL PLACES
There are numerous ancient city ruins inside the borders of historic Paphlagonia region. Ancient cities of Sesamos (Amasra), Kromna (Kurucaşile) and Erythinoi (Çakraz) are located inside the borders of Bartın. The castle, two churches, bedesten, Kuşkayası Road Monument (Unique in the world) and inziva (seclusion) cave inside the city center are among the visual parts of the ancient city. The sections of the ancient city like forum, council palace, road of honor, theatre, acropolis, necropolis are below ground.
NATIONAL AND NATURAL PARK
Bartın - Kastamonu Küre Mountains National Park : The Küre Mountains National Park includes a variety of trees, a rich flora and fauna, and a potentiality for wild life. It is one of the untouched places which had not been opened for usage in the industrial sense. Around the National Park there are Azdavay, Pınarbaşı, Ulus, Bartın, Kurucaşile, Amasra and Cide Districts. The main animal species inhabiting in the park are deer, roe deer, bear, wolf, fox, jackal, rabbit, wild boar, singing birds, birds of prey, and reptiles.
