Sailing in Turkey also allows visitors to experience the hospitality of the people in the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds blowing from west and northwest make the long summers ideal for yachting, and seem to encourage an appreciation of nature. From some of the turquoise coast's unspoilt and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level.

Yalıçiftlik is 30 km from Bodrum town and can be reached directly by using the public transport known as a dolmuş. This public transport route will take approximately 40 minutes.  The transfer time from Bodrum airport to Yalıçiftlik is approximately one hour. Yalıçiftlik is located at the entrance to the gulf of Gökava which is a stretch of the Aegean Sea between the Bodrum and Datça peninsulas of Turkey.

There are a few seaside restaurants that specialize in seafood and fish cuisine however they will have a variety of other dishes on their menus. Nightlife in Yalıçiftlik is laid back and relaxing so if you are looking for the large nightclubs that stay open till dawn, you will need to head to the resorts of Gümbet or Bodrum town center.

By minibus Yalıçiftlik is only 40 minutes away from Bodrum center. It is surrounded by secluded small bays, crystal clear sea and beautiful pine forests. Through beautiful pine forests on a winding road past whitewashed cisterns is the beach at Yalıçiftlik.

The first bay after the end of Karaada Island and marking the entrance to the Gulf of Gökova, this shingle beach has several restaurants and cafes around it, serving good inexpensive delicious foods. The eastern end of the beach is sandy and it is possible to swim and sunbathe in solitude by the rocks a bit further on.

Yalıçiftlik is probably one of the best preserved place around the peninsula of Bodrum. There are a couple of holiday villages and luxury hotels in the region. It is a very nice drive from Bodrum to Yalıçiftlik through little villages and forests.

Village of Çiftlikköy is the farming and just 4 km away. The stone farmhouses are scattered around the hillside, figs grown in the surrounding orchards and the main crops are pine honey collected from the beehives in the forests. Untouched by tourism, the village offers an interesting insight into real local farming life.

Yalıçiftlik is on the road to Kızılağaç and at entrance of the gulf of Gökova and possibly the best seas of Bodrum are in the small coves to be found here. in the coves of Pabuç and Kargıcık.

On the top of the hill above the Alazeytin district of the village are the ruins of the ancient city of Syangela. You can get to the ruins by a 20 minutes walk through the olive trees from the end of the alazeytin district.

Enjoy a traditional experience at the local market on a Friday.
