Sailing in Turkey also allows visitors to experience the hospitality of the people in the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds blowing from west and northwest make the long summers ideal for yachting, and seem to encourage an appreciation of nature. From some of the turquoise coast's unspoilt and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level.

MERSİN KOYU ANCHORAGE

Fethiye - Muğla - Turkey

GPS : 36°33'49.0"N 29°05'20.5"E / 36.563600, 29.089020

The creek indenting to E at the head of Bektaş Cove is called Mersin Limanı. It is surrounded by steep hills and pine trees. This creek is relatively smaller than Soğuksu, but it affords better sheltering from the prevailing winds and this anchorage gets less crowded.

Drop anchor in 6 - 9 meters on the sand bottom and get a line ashore. There are reefs off the coast and strong southerlies push swell in.

Mersin Limanı is an isolated creek, it can not be accessible by land.
