Everyday is a market day starting from morning till the sunset. Here you can find a lot of souvenirs to look at and mostly the market wares are based on textile and souvenir. On the local market you can buy everything you want out of food, spices, clothing, etc at low prices. In summer, the market is open around the clock so you can shop when it is not so hot - it does it is usually easier and more enjoyable.
If you are in Mavişehir looking out to sea then the Greek islands that you can see are Agathonissi and Farmako (Phamakonisi). In Roman times Julius Ceaser was hold captured on the island of Farmako by kidnappers for 34 days.
On a good day you can see the islands of Samos to the North and to the west are Lipsi, Arki and Patmos, all part of the Leros group.
