Göcek is a small town in Fethiye district in Muğla Province, Turkey. Göcek is situated on Dalaman-Fethiye highway. Göcek has all the necessary infrastructure, capacity, and amenities expected in a tourism center, yet it is renowned as a much more peaceful and quiet settlement than some other tourism areas. Göcek is a settlement near seaside named as Göcek Bays where located in Fethiye Golf. Göcek is 110 km far from Muğla and 15 km from International Dalaman Airport.
It was named “Kalimche” in ancient times, and is located between Fethiye - Telmessos in ancient times - and Dalyan - Caunos in ancient times. According to the legends, it is in the Göcek area that Icarus landed in the sea after his famous flight trying to escape from the tower where he is imprisoned. Göcek was used as a harbour for the ships loading chrome ore collected from the mines in the mountains around during the Ottoman period.
A prominent characteristic of the town is the fact that it harbors islands and coves located in a large and secluded bay. Owing to its location, it naturally enjoys a high potential for yacht tourism. In 1988, Göcek was declared a Registered Area of Special Protection. Therefore, multi-storey buildings are not allowed, the tourist accommodation facilities are two-storied hotels, motels, apartment hotels, and pensions situated in the town center and its periphery.
With its secluded bay, the harbor is quiet and safe, especially for long-distance travelers arriving from international waters. Göcek coves and the 12 islands, which are described as a hidden paradise, with clean Mediterranean water, green pine forests, and beaches, have rendered Göcek an indispensable destination for seafarers.
MARINA
This marina is at town center. There is a shallow patch on the north of the quay. Southerly winds can cause a swell, which makes the marina untenable. It does not provide shelter in winter.
Municipality Marina, owned and managed by the municipality of Göcek, offers limited services and facilities compared to the private marinas in Göcek. This is sited in front of the village center and has two quays of mooring. Göcek is very calm and protected harbour due to geographical situation of Fethiye Golf. Göcek is a very good shelter for all visitors who has sea passion with a lot of magnificent bays, islands and turquoise waters. Göcek is very popular anchorage spot by the sailors because of the magnificent nature.
Göcek Marina is important place by the yachtsmen to leave their yacht in experienced hands while making some shopping, refueling and resting. Göcek Marina is town marina which belongs to Göcek Municipality and also operating by Göcek Municipality Team. Göcek Marina has perfect location in the city centre. It is possible to walk everywhere from Göcek Marina to make some shopping and buy fresh vegetable and fruit from Göcek Market.
There is a med mooring system in the marina. The anchoring in the marina definitely not allowed. Experienced Göcek Marina staff will secure your yacht stern to or bow to according to your request with mooring line and shore line.
Navigation/Approach
Entry is straightforward. The marina consists of two jetties and a section of quay to the north.
Berthing
Yachts berth on northerly jetty (where the shelter is better in southerly winds). Marina staff will assist with berthing. There are laid moorings tailed to pier and quay.

Marina facilities
Very few facilities at the marina, but you are close to the centre of town here where most requirements can be sourced.
Security and Seaman team is on duty 7 days 24 hours.
Marina office is open between 08:00 - 24:00 to assist you for all kind of request at the entrance of the pontoon.
The marina kiosk is by the entrance to the pier.

There are many restaurants which feature a wide array of seafood along the shore in Göcek. You can choose from regional fish such as rock grouper, gilt head bream, red mullet, and common grouper which are carefully displayed for you in refrigerated glass cases. Pizzas, grilled meat, kebabs, Turkish cuisine are the alternatives to the fish.
SHOPPING
The Göcek bazaar is designed to please foreign yacht travelers all over. Here you will find a number of gift shops, antique dealers, carpet dealers, boutiques and jewelers. String hammocks are among the bestselling items and no need to look too far for an ATM to buy one of those. Organic vegetables and freshly picked fruits can be bought from the open air bazaar held each Sunday.
BEACH
There is one beach belonging to Swisshotel Göcek Marina & Resort which you can enter by paying daily price or you get a seasonal membership. There is Inlice Beach out of Göcek which you can reach within 10 minutes drive, running by the municipality of Göcek.
