Maden Adası the Greek Poroselene is a small uninhabited island with a lovely cove. Maden Koyu is a pretty bay on the southeast of Maden Island. Maden Koyu affords adequate shelter from the northerly and westerly blowing winds. There is a limited space for maneuvering; care is required when prevailing wind blows stronger.
Anchor over sand in 5 m. Good protection from the meltemi. The bottom is weed and sand in some parts. Boats can drop anchor in 3 - 4 meters.
The depth on the beach side drops to 2 meters, the bottom here is sand.
This island is called Maden Island due to iron ore mining in the area.
The ruin stone tower on the hill on Maden Island - is from the prehistoric era. It was renovated and converted into a watchtower.
