Sailing in Turkey also allows visitors to experience the hospitality of the people in the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds blowing from west and northwest make the long summers ideal for yachting, and seem to encourage an appreciation of nature. From some of the turquoise coast's unspoilt and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level.

One of the most rapidly developed beaches in this region is the at the village of Koyunevi. If you travel for 4.5 km from highway just above sea level you descend to a half moon shaped long sandy cove. Stretching along the shore there are small motels and pensions lined up, their restaurants under the shade of vines always serving fresh seafood.

Sokakağzı is the name that has been given to the beach that belongs to Koyunevi village. Sokakağzı and Sivrice share the same cove. Sokakağzı is situated across the Greek Island of Lesvos, on the southern side of Cape of Babakale. Koyunevi is one of the villages with intriguing stone houses all along the road from Gülpınar to Sokakağzı, located on the shore. Sokakağzı is a lively holiday resort with small pensions and restaurants along the half moon shaped long sandy cove.

Sokakağzı has been popular among a very loyal group of Sokakağzı addicts, and therefore is considered to be a special place. There are some nice hotels, a couple of pensions, and camping sites along the beach.  Wooden tables, restaurants with tents covering it give it an authentic atmosphere.

The living of the village consisted of growing olives, olive oil production and fishing before it started to deal with tourism. The sea is clean, the fish and sea products are plentiful and so is the olive oil.
